DAILY READINGS: Judges 11:29 to 12:15; Isaiah 32; 1 Cor. 10:14 to 11:1 And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz. Ruth 2:1 The kinsman redeemer was God’s gracious provision for an Israelite to regain an inheritance, lost through neglect or misfortune. The Christian can’t lose his salvation, but he can lose his “spiritual blessings” by neglect or by having them snatched away, unaware, by the world or Satan. Our Lord Jesus Christ is our Kinsman Redeemer, interceding on our behalf, to restore our lost blessings, on the basis of His redemptive work at Calvary. Now we have the right to be heard, the right to confess, the right to be forgiven and restored (1 John 1:5-10). O let us worship our mighty Redeemer today. —Milton Haack Thou dear Redeemer, dying Lamb, I love to hear of Thee; No music like Thy charming name, is half so sweet to me. —J. Cennick |
