DAILY READINGS: Exodus 19; Psalms 58; Acts 10:24-33 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with Him. Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. John 12:2, 3
Martha served. If she had not, there would have been no supper. Lazarus sat with Our Lord. He had spent four days in glory! Oh, what he must have been thinking. How he adored the One who gave him life! Mary displayed her worship visibly but silently. May we find opportunity to serve, quietly muse on Him and openly worship today. —Ken Gross
Gazing on Thee, Lord, in glory, while our hearts in worship bow, There we read the wondrous story, of the cross, its shame and woe.—C. T. |
