DAILY READINGS: Exodus 16; Psalm 52-54; Acts 9:1-31 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He hath smitten, and He will bind us up. Hosea 6:1
The Scriptures consistently portray the Lord as the God of restoration and recovery. His purposes embrace not only Israel’s national recovery, as seen here in Hosea, but also personal restoration, as seen in Peter’s case. Herein lies great encouragement for us! Let us personally “return to the Lord”, applying Biblical principles of restoration to our lives. Thus “healed and bound up”, it may please the Lord to use us in the recovery of others (see Luke 22:32). —G. Hall
Lord, speak to me, that I may speak, In living echoes of thy tone; As thou hast sought, so let me seek, Thy erring children, lost and lone. —Bernard of Clairvaux |
