DAILY READINGS: Exodus 14:5-31; Psalms 49-50; Acts 7:30 to 8:4 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. Proverbs 29:25
The fear of man can lead us into sin and keep us from speaking out in boldness for Christ. It is a snare that subtly traps us into finding security in the approval of men. We need to remember that “the fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death” (Proverbs 14:27). As we see God for who He is, temptation and fear fade proportionately. The fear of man will keep you from fearing the Lord and the fear of the Lord will keep you from fearing man. —Dennis Easton
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face; And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace. —Helen H. Lemmel |
